Why Willow Lake?

The next most commonly asked question is why Willow Lake? When my husband and I bought our 200 year old house 13 years ago, we fell in love with the house, but didn't know much about the history of it or the property. To our surprise, there was a pond behind us. This pond has a long history, more significant than our house, and has had many names. One of which was Willow Lake. The pond and hillside have had many purposes, but the one I loved most was when it was a recreation park for the villagers. It had a garden temple on the hillside with beautiful willows, and villagers could use row boats in the summer and skate in the winter. It seemed like a magical place that needed to be remembered.
